Did you know that low iron can cause hair loss?

Iron deficiency is a condition or a type of anemia that occurs when there is not enough iron in the body in which the blood lacks adequate healthy red blood cells and red blood cells are needed to carry oxygen to the body’s tissues.

While some of the side effects of low iron are fatigue/weakness, chest pain, shortness of breath, ice cravings, etc but some people also experience hair loss‼️

When there is not enough iron in the body, the body can not produce the hemoglobin in the blood and hemoglobin delivers oxygen for the growth and for the repair of cells in the body and also the cells that stimulate hair growth!

When your body is short of oxygen, it channels its available supply to your vital organs to keep them alive, rather than your hair follicles.

Without oxygen getting to the follicles, this causes the hair follicles to cease to function and produce new cells properly and as a result, the hair can fall out!

Iron regulates certain hair cells like keratinocytes but a deficiency could contribute to the poor functioning of these cells, which can cause hair loss and some medical research and studies believe that low iron deficiency or anemia could be very well linked to alopecia areata, telogen effluvium, and male/female pattern baldness!

However, there are ways to correct a iron deficiency or low iron in the body naturally and that is through eating healthy foods that are high in iron, taking a good quality whole food iron supplement, and exercising!

I just believe that it is the will of God that every Queen have beautiful healthy hair that GROWS in abundance and I believe that God gave us all that we would ever need that’s found in nature through His fruits, veggies, and herbs for the healing, nourishment, and restoration for our bodies!

Using topical treatments and good chemical free products are great but just treating the hair loss on the outside is not enough!

The good quality products work awesome but they would work even better if you get down to the root of the problem that‘s causing the hair loss in the first place which is a lack of iron so it all starts from the inside with feeding your body all the iron, nutrients, and minerals that it needs!

See the list of foods below that are high in iron, and I hope this helps!
